Anisa Nachett is a London based artist, designer and maker who creates sculptural art forms that tell stories of traditional craft whilst deconstructing industrial processes to reflect on contemporary culture. Driven by a profound fascination for craftsmanship, her current creative explorations centre around ceramic and metal work.Very lately she has been intricately weaving and exploring her Moroccan heritage into her artistry.
Nachett is an Architecture graduate of the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands and the Architectural Association in London. She went on to work for Ron Arad for several years as an architectural designer. Drawing from her background and experiences, she has since established her own practice, where she continues to explore the intersection of material experimentation, craft and art.
Her creative journey has taken her to International residencies in India, Southern Africa, and across Morocco. In Morocco she recently developed her Bricks series, working directly with red clay and natural oxides sourced from the Ourika region. Alongside her studio practice, she regularly leads workshops and contributes as a visiting critic at universities, sharing her evolving approach to making, material, and meaning.
